We’ve been celebrating Molly Moon’s 10th Birthday in business since May, and this party just won’t quit! This month the 'birthday' cake we’re bringing to you is made by our amazing friends at Hood Famous Bakeshop!
Owner Chera, and her bakeshop team, have been whipping together huge batches of their calamansi cheesecake for us to swirl into our lemon-blueberry ice cream. Chera’s bakeshop is all about introducing Filipino flavors into familiar American classics, like cheesecake! Calamansi, a tart citrus fruit common in Filipino cuisine, is the perfect pairing for this seasonal favorite made with beautiful organic blueberries from Bow Hill Blueberries in the Skagit Valley. Molly and Chera first met a couple of years ago while both supporting an amazing Seattle nonprofit, Families of Color Seattle. They quickly bonded as mothers and business owners who shared similar values in life, and in the way they run their companies. We are so proud of Chera and the delicious, community-driven bake shop she is growing, and especially love that she always highlights Filipino flavors, like ube, pandan and calamansi!
