Celebrating Juneteenth
June 19, 2026
This year, we are establishing The Aronka O’Nealia Cooper Fund for Early Education for Black Children. This fund will honor the legacy and love for children of one of the most beloved members of the mooncrew, Aronka Cooper, who worked for Molly Moon’s in Columbia City and our headquarters from 2017 to 2019.
Aronka’s fund will provide scholarships for Black families for high quality early education and full day childcare at The Learning Tree Montessori School in Seattle, where Aronka sent both of her boys.
The Learning Tree has an anti-bias, anti-racism curriculum and culture and is a progressive, meaningful part of the central Seattle community. 5% of Friday sales will be contributed to this fund.
Connected to the story of Juneteenth, where the tragic delay of information kept legally free people enslaved, we are investing in Black-owned media in our community by donating 5% of Friday sales to both Converge Media and the South Seattle Emerald. Both organizations serve as vital sources of news and information for the Black community across our region.
