We're bringing back our Summer classics and something fun and new!!

Sunny warm days at Molly Moon’s go hand in hand with two spectacularly delicious and popular flavors we bring back every year- cherry chunk and vegancherry chunk ice cream! Fresh heirloom varietal cherries are delivered to our kitchens, where they are pitted, pureed, and added to our rich ice cream and vegan ice cream bases with chunks of Theo Chocolate’s 70% dark chocolate. Every bite is a perfect marriage of chocolate and cherries highlighting the fruity complexity in both of these incredible ingredients. Each year the plump, dark crimson cherries we use come from the amazing team at Alberg Farm who lovingly pluck the fruit at peak ripeness by moonlight to protect the perfectly juicy cherries from the heat of the Eastern Washington summer sun. All our shops will be scooping you these summer classics, except our little Madrona walk-up window which will be scooping you just the vegan version. As a bonus, our favorite cookie makers in Seattle, Hello Robin, will carry both the traditional andvegan versions at their shops too!

Another perennial favorite during these warm months is our strawberry shortcake ice cream. Homemade flaky butter scones are crumbled in our strawberry studded ice cream, with big swirls of ruby red strawberry jam and a pinch of salt to make this flavor sparkle and shine! One of our company’s most important relationships is the long standing partnership we have with Viva Farmsin the Skagit Valley. From late May through August we purchase thousands of pounds of strawberries that we preserve to use throughout the year in our strawberry ice cream. Having these incredibly flavorful local strawberries is what sets our strawberry ice cream apart from all others. We love Viva Farms mission to empower aspiring limited-resource farmers by providing bi-lingual training in holistic and organic farming practices, as well as access to land, infrastructure and equipment, training, marketing and capital. Viva has educated over 700 small farmers (150+ spanish speakers) in sustainable organic farming, contributing and preserving sustainable farming for a more just local food system. Strawberry shortcake ice cream will be available at all Molly Moon’s scoop shops including the Madrona walk-up window.

Iced coffee season is in full effect in the PNW! This month we are bringing a coffee-licious mocha chip ice cream into our scoop shops. We start by brewing big pots of Olympia Coffee and then combine it with organic sugar and dutch process cocoa powder. This zippy mixture gets blended into our ice cream base and after it’s churned to silky perfection, we fold in a generous heap of Theo 70% dark chocolate chunks. This flavor is a favorite of Molly Moon’s from her college days in Missoula Montana, working at Big Dipper Ice Cream (her first ice cream job!). To replicate the way Molly enjoys this flavor get yourself a scoop in a waffle cone, and ask for a heavy drizzle of vanilla bean caramel on top! It’s the decadent treat you deserve!
