Warm & Cozy Clothing Drive for FamilyWorks

Molly Moon’s has been partnering with FamilyWorks Family Resource Center since we opened our very first shop across the street 12 years ago in the Wallingford neighborhood. In fact, we started our Anna Banana Milk Fund to provide fresh milk and dairy to their customers each week, before expanding the fund to support food banks in all of our shop neighborhoods. Everyone at FamilyWorks works tirelessly to help our community members get the resources they need. They provide everything from food at their food bank, to toiletries and diapers, to staff that can assist folks with finding housing or employment opportunities.
When FamilyWorks told us they were in need of more warm & cozy clothing items for their visitors, we decided to host an item drive in our shops! Starting this week, each of our shop locations (except our Bellevue walk-up) have collection bins for you to drop off new or lightly used items such as coats, warm hats, gloves, mittens, warm socks, blankets and sleeping bags. Everything collected will be donated to their community closet, where visitors to FamilyWorks can shop for the things they need this Fall and Winter to keep their families warm.
Executive Director, Marcia Wright-Soika told us recently that they’ve seen 500 NEW households each month the last few months and that the need in our community is greater than ever. Below is Marcia standing in the FamilyWorks Community Closet.
